The Life on ADT Androgen Deprivation Therapy (ADT) Educational Program is a free, 1.5-hour, facilitated online class. In the class participants learn about the many side effects of ADT and how to manage them to maintain good physical and psychological health overall. The program is designed for both patients starting on ADT and their partners or loved ones. Canadian participants receive a free copy of the book Androgen Deprivation Therapy: An Essential Guide for Prostate Cancer Patients and Their Loved Ones.

Prostate Cancer Foundation Canada provides equitable support to patients and their loved ones across Canada. They provide access to resources including free ‘Reef Knot Kit’ info packages, which aid patients in researching their diagnosis and making difficult decisions surrounding treatment options. Their network of support groups includes nationwide virtual meetings for Advanced PCa, Active Surveillance, GBTQ, and Partners. Their One-on-One program provides individual mentoring from fellow patients and partners.

The Vancouver Prostate Centre established the Prostate Cancer Supportive Care (PCSC) Program in 2013 to provide a comprehensive survivorship program for men with prostate cancer, their partners, and families from the time of initial diagnosis onwards. It is a clinical, educational, and research-based approach to care, addressing the challenges of decision-making and coping along the entire disease trajectory to serve both the patient and their partner’s physical and psychological needs.
